comic syndicate submission #1
The following are the sample packet I sent out to syndicates in my very
first submission way back in 1995. I did it under the pen name of
"Ten Times", which I thought just sounded plain
cool. It's titled
"Tabards in the
Capillary", so named through the cosmic joining of two random words
culled
from the closest available dictionary. It features a panda, a
horse, a human, and a tapeworm
named Porkchop (whom I believe you've already clicked).
In between storylines the characters take a break while some
good old fashioned one panelers dazzle your literary senses. Also
I've made the images as big as possible so they'd
still be readable, as in some places the writing gets very small.
It's sloppy work, but the
retrospective it's given me since the submission has taught me two
valuable things to tighten up the craft: 1) Don't free hand the
lettering, trace
it from graph paper, and 2) If you don't like the way it looks, don't
ink it, erase and redraw your way to personal cartoon bliss. The
very last storyline gets cut off prematurely, so myself thinking it's
quite amusing, will
have
to dig up the originals and throw them up here at an unknown point in
the future. Like
I said folks, it's sloppy, but if you're able to follow it, I think
you'll find it funny too. Unless you're dumb. To go back to my
